The Most Popular Shoe Brands in American Teen Fashion

Shoes have always been a statement piece in American fashion, and that’s why getting the highest quality shoe is of utmost important to the American teen. Fit, color, shape, brand, and wear are all extremely important while comparing and contrasting different shoes. Today, I’m going to tell you all about popular shoe brands; how they came to be, the main style they sell, and the price ranges. We’ll start with Nike, Converse, and Adidas.

Nike

Nike is currently the highest grossing shoe brand in the world with a net worth of over 37 billion US dollars. The company started in 1964 by Bill Bowerman, a track and field coach, and was originally called Blue Ribbon Sports. The name was changed to Nike in 1972 and just blew up from there! Nike is famous for its athletic shoes designed for all athletes and provides all types of shapes, fits, colors, and more! Nike started producing ‘slides,’ which also took off, and now make headbands, bracelets, and more. Nike’s shoes are a little bit more on the pricey side as its a name brand, the shoes ranging from 70-$200. However, the shoes usually last for a couple of years and provide great comfort and style.

Converse

Converse was created in 1908 by a man by the name of Marquis Mills Converse. Converse is actually now owned by Nike as a daughter brand, but the company grosses about 2 billion US dollars a year. Converse blew up in 1917 after the Chuck Taylor collection was released, a shoe that is still in mass-production today as it’s still so popular. Converse specializes in more stylish casual shoes rather than Nike’s athletic scheme. Their shoes come in all colors of the rainbow and have a much flatter sole, deeming them a little bit uncomfortable. The prices range from 40-$150 but often can be found on sale in stores or on their website. Converse has been a favorite for over a century!

Adidas

Adidas was founded in 1924 by Adolf Dassler, a German, who started the company after World War I with his brother. The company was originally named Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory but was changed to Adidas in 1947. Adolf’s brother then created Puma, the third most popular sportswear brand in Europe. Adidas grosses 16.5 billion a year and is one of Nike’s greatest competitors. Adidas also specializes in sports shoes, but Adidas is more famous for its great cleats. Adidas shoes come in every color imaginable and in so many patterns. Prices range from 20-$350, the greatest price range on this article.

Verdict
There are so many shoe brands to choose from, but these are the best of the best. They offer comfort, shape, color, patterns, and practical use, and also the brand name. I always shop for the shoe and not the brand name, but sometimes treating yourself is the best thing you can do for yourself.
